What is Camu Camu?

Camu camu (Myrciaria dubia) is a small berry that grows in the flooded areas of the Amazon rainforest. It contains an extraordinary concentration of vitamin C--up to 60 times more per serving than an orange.

Vitamin C Content

The vitamin C in camu camu is naturally buffered and accompanied by bioflavonoids and other phytonutrients that may enhance its absorption and effectiveness compared to synthetic ascorbic acid.

Beyond Vitamin C

Camu camu also provides potassium, amino acids, and unique phytochemicals with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It offers whole-food nutrition rather than isolated nutrients.

Immune and Mood

High vitamin C intake supports immune function and may support mood and cognitive function. Some preliminary research suggests camu camu has benefits beyond what vitamin C alone provides.

Usage

Camu camu powder has a tart, somewhat sour taste. It mixes well in smoothies, juices, or water. Heat can degrade vitamin C, so avoid adding it to hot beverages.
